Pilou and its Animal Rescue and Care programme in Bhutan (BARC centre) is a non-profit organisation that depends entirely on volunteers and donations to operate. With your help and co-operation, we can continue to provide animal rescue and care, shelter and medical care to the numerous stray animals and wildlife in need in Bhutan. We aim to keep our overhead costs low and since all operational expenses are provided for by our founders Marianne Guillet and Hendrik Visser, we can assure you that all your donations are directly and 100% helping animals in need.
There are many ways you can help, be it your time as a volunteer, in-kind or financial contributions, animal adoption, animal sponsorships, membership.
Pilou is registered with the Government of The Netherlands and our BARC centre in Bhutan with the Royal Government of Bhutan. Both do a full annual accounting with donors listed in their respective annual reports.
Make a donation: even a few Dollars or Euros can make a big difference!
Make a one-time donation or set up monthly donations to help us rescue and care for animals in need in Bhutan.
Pilou and BARC can use funds and/or in-kind donations for specific activities you choose, or can pool funds into a general fund we use to operate our BARC centre in Bhutan, to buy medical supplies, food for our furry friends, run specific activities with the communities, or build additional infrastructure to host our growing number of rescued animals.
Depending on your country or state laws your donation may be tax-deductible. On request, Pilou or BARC will provide you with a receipt for any funds or in-kind donations.
Our mission is to promote the welfare of animals, and to contribute to a society where a healthy and happy coexistence between animals and humans is the norm.
