Purpose and Strategies

The purpose of the Pilou Animal Rescue and Care is to promote the welfare and health of animals. The PARC bases its existence and actions on the intrinsic value of animals, independent from the utility value, which animals may have for humans. Animals are sentient beings with feelings, consciousness and integrity and need to be treated with respect, kindness and compassion.

The PARC will thus protect the welfare of all animals in the broadest sense and will promote and represent their interest. The PARC has two main strategies to achieve it’s purpose:

• The PARC will support like-minded organizations in selected countries with public relations and advocacy, for promoting a healthy co-existence of animals and humans and stimulating the progression of a society based on ‘Happiness’ where animal welfare is an important pillar of societal progress.
• The PARC will develop in collaboration with selected like-minded organizations in the countries selected, sustainable animal rescue and care programmes and facilities to address the urgent and immediate needs of animals, as well as to provide adequate animal health services over time.
